OU Men's Tennis Finishes Strong At Heart Of America Intercollegiate

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team concluded action at the Heart of America Fall Intercollegiate in Edmond, Okla., with several strong performances in singles and doubles action.

Sophomore Matt Long (Fort Worth, Texas) posted victories over OCU's Olzhas Doskarayev, teammate Matt Lopez (Enid, Okla.) and Cameron's John Patak to win the third flight division. Lopez defeated Cowley's Josh Coble for his third singles victory of the tournament before falling to Long in the semifinal round. OU freshman Tommy Garrison (Enid, Okla.) fell to Quachita Baptist's Emilien Rabin in the quarterfinals of the second flight division.

In double's action, senior Chris Mitchell (Tulsa, Okla.) and Garrison were victorious in the first flight division while sophomore Silviu Tanasoiu (Sibiu, Romania) and Brad Prigmore (Wichita Falls, Texas) reached the semifinals of the first flight before falling. Lopez and sophomore Alex Nomicos (Targoviste, Romania) won the second flight division.
