NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team begins the fall portion of the 2002-03 season today at the OCU Invitational in Oklahoma City. This is the first of seven tournaments the Sooners will be competing in this fall.

Play begins at 8 a.m. this morning and will continue tomorrow and Sunday. Matches will be individually scored with singles and doubles competition every day. Senior Matt Ogle will be held out of competition due to a foot injury which means that he and sophomore Matt Long will not be competing in the doubles draw.

Head Coach Paul Lockwood embarks on his 16th year at the helm of the program. He brings back six players from last year's team and has added two newcomers to this year's roster including sophomore transfer Silviu Tanasoiu and freshman Tommy Garrison.

Last year the Sooners finished 12-12 overall and 0-8 in the Big 12.
