OU Men's Tennis Competes At Heart of America Intercollegiate

NORMAN, Okla. - In the first day of the fall season, the University of Oklahoma men's tennis team went 11-4 in singles action and 3-0 in doubles play at the Heart of America Fall Intercollegiate in Oklahoma City.

In the flight one division, sophomore Silviu Tanasoiu was victorious in his first two matches before falling in the round of 16 while senior Chris Mitchell went 1-1. In the flight II division, freshman Tommy Garrison played well going 2-0 to reach the quarterfinal round. Sophomore Alex Nomicos went 1-1 while sophomore Brad Prigmore also went 1-1. In the flight III division, sophomores Matt Long and Matt Lopez both reached the quarterfinals going 2-0.

The Sooners were perfect in doubles with the teams of Mitchell/Garrison, Lopez/Nomicos and Prigmore/Tanasoiu all reaching the round of 16 before play was suspended.

Play will resume Saturday morning at 10.
