Final Stats
Texas Head Coach Augie Garrido
Overall
I thought the game was controlled by the defensive side, starting with pitching. Clark did a great job for us today. He has been passed over for some starts this year and I am proud of his efforts today, it shows the champion in him.
To keep the game in check, from our side, we didn't get hits when runners were in the position to score.
On Tim Moss, 2B
He provides the team with great leadership on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
On Brantley Jordan, P
Brantley's strikeouts can't be overlooked. We have a lot of talent on our team and he did what was needed to close it down.
Texas Pitcher Ray Clark
On the game
I got my chance today and I took advantage of it. I hadn't gotten that chance in about eight weeks so today I decided I was going to pitch the way that I pitch and it paid off.
Oklahoma Quotes
Coach Larry Cochell
"This was a great college game. The game was very well pitched. I was happy with Rocky [Cherry]. Evan [Greusel] pitched well, and got his curveball over for strikes. The pitch count wasn't high but it was a strong performance. Clark had an outstanding curve ball."
"Every play at home plate is a big play in a game like this. Texas is a fine ball club, they are the best team we've played. There is never one play that wins or loses the game."
Evan Greusel, P
"I wanted to keep our team in the game. My curveball is coming back well. I was hitting my spots with my fastball. I tried to keep the score low and help out with the next game."
Luke Alexander,
On the home run:
"I felt good at batting practice and I wanted to get a hit for my team."
