Women's Tennis Falls To No. 65 Nebraska

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team lost to No. 65 Nebraska, 4-3, on Sunday, April 7, at the Oaktree Country Club in Edmond, Okla. The match was original scheduled to be played at the OU Headington Family Tennis Center, but was moved indoors because of rain.The No. 45 Sooners have lost four consecutive league matches and are 1-6 in the Big 12 Conference, 11-7 overall. The No. 65 Huskers improve to 13-5 overall, 3-5 in league play.

Sophomore Anda Perianu and freshman Bethany Griffin won at the No. 1 and No. 4 spots, respectively, for the Sooners' two singles points. Griffin and freshman Heather Saluri were victorious at the No. 1 doubles spot, while Perinanu and junior Melissa Mendieta won at the No. 3 spot to take the doubles point.

Oklahoma returns to action Saturday, April 13, against Colorado at 12 p.m. The dedication for the Sooners' new facility, the OU Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, will be held before the match with the Buffaloes.
