OU-Connecticut NCAA Title Game Breaks Record On ESPN

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's basketball national championship game against Connecticut was watched by more viewers than other game in ESPN's history of televising college basketball. That span included 5,349 games in 23 season. The contest, held on March 3, was viewed by average of 3.487 million viewers, breaking the record of the Princeton-Arkansas NCAA First Round men's game on March 15, 1990 (3.440 million).

Also of note is ratings for this year's final was up 24 percent from last year's Notre Dame-Purdue final which had a 2.6 rating and 2.153 million homes and this year's tournament is up nine percent in the ratings game and 13 percent in number of viewers watched compared to the 2001 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
