NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's basketball team held its annual awards banquet tonight at Lloyd Noble Center inside its new practice facility. The Sooners welcomed approximately 500 fans to share in dinner, laughs, award presentations, a video presentation and a reflection on the regular season.
Ten awards were presented in categories ranging from Most Improved Player to the Tight White Award (given to a valuable scout team player).
Oklahoma, ranked fourth in the latest AP and ESPN/USA Today polls, is the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament inside Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. The Sooners earned a first-round bye and will play Friday at 6 p.m. against the winner of Thursday's Kansas State (No. 7 seed) versus Baylor (No. 10 seed) contest. The Sooners are 24-4 overall and set a school record for Big 12 wins in a season by going 13-3.
