NORMAN, Okla. - With its impressive series win at then-No. 11 Arizona State last weekend, the Oklahoma baseball team has broken into the Top 25 in all three major national polls. OU (15-5, 3-0 Big 12) is currently leading the Big 12 Conference and has won seven of its last eight contests.

Collegiate Baseball, the nation's oldest college baseball poll, has the Sooners ranked No. 18, while Baseball Weekly/ESPN has tabbed Oklahoma No. 20. OU finds itself No. 22 in the Baseball America listing.

"It's always nice to be ranked in the national polls and it's important for a young ball club like this to be recognized for their play," said Oklahoma head coach Larry Cochell. "We need to keep improving from week to week and build on what we've done thus far."

Oklahoma returns to action on Friday in a crucial Big 12 Conference series at Texas A&M. The Aggies are 17-9 on the season and 5-4 in conference play, but are coming off a sweep at the hands of No. 9 Nebraska.
