NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma junior men's basketball player Hollis Price is one of 20 players on the John R. Wooden Award official ballot, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced. The 6-1 guard is the second Sooner in the last three years to make the official ballot as Eduardo Najera was a finalist in 2000.

A first-team All-Big 12 selection by league coaches and media, Price enters NCAA Tournament play as the team's leader in minutes (33.3 mpg), points (16.6 ppg) and three-pointers (71). He also ranks second on the squad with 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals per outing. The New Orleans, La., native is shooting .378 from three-point range while his .831 free throw mark ranks fourth in the conference. Price, who scored 23 points Sunday against Kansas to earn Big 12 Tournament MVP honors, is also a member of the conference's all-defense squad.

Additionally, Price has been named to CollegeInsider.com's 16-player All-America team. Other Big 12 players on the Internet site's squad are Drew Gooden and Kirk Hinrich of Kansas. The other 13 members of the All-America team are Sam Clancy (USC), Dan Dickau (Gonzaga), Juan Dixon (Maryland), Mike Dunleavy (Duke), Jared Jeffries (Indiana), Freddie Jones (Oregon), Brandin Knight (Pittsburgh), Steve Logan (Cincinnati), Keith McLeod (Bowling Green), Dwayne Wade (Marquette), Luke Walton (Arizona), David West (Xavier) and Jason Williams (Duke).

Price and the No. 3-ranked Sooners will head into NCAA Tournament competition as the No. 2 seed in the West Region. OU plays No. 15 seed Illinois-Chicago Friday at 11:30 a.m. CST at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. If Oklahoma wins its first-round game it will play the winner of Friday's Xavier (No. 7 seed) vs. Hawaii (No. 10 seed) contest on Sunday at approximately 3:45 p.m.
