OKLAHOMA HEAD COACH KELVIN SAMPSON
On the game and Texas:
"I thought we played good and this was a great win for our team. Texas is a good basketball team. We knew they would be ready to play, especially coming off of the loss against Oklahoma State. Any time you have a point guard like T.J. Ford, you'll have a chance."
On OU junior guard Ebi Ere:
"At some point in the game, you knew that Ebi was going to step up his play and get it going. I really liked the way he attacked the basket in the second half. We started running some more plays to get him more involved in our offense."
On OU's free throw shooting:
"With the way we practice our free throws in practice, we expect to make every one in our games. If you have good free throw shooters you are going to make a lot and we were consistent in that area tonight."
On senior forward Aaron McGhee:
"Aaron is playing so consistent right now. I thought that his play in the first half really triggered our team. He is such a solid player. He's playing like a first-team all-conference player."
OKLAHOMA JUNIOR GUARD HOLLIS PRICE
"T.J. (Ford) is an excellent player and he didn't have a great shooting night, but he got to the free throw line and had a lot of assists. So he was definitely doing some things to hurt us. But I think we played a very good defensive game tonight. This was a nice win for us. The crowd was excellent and wrapping up the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament was important to us."
"Our guys were hitting their shots tonight, so that makes it fun to drive and dish and set them up. I went out for a while in the second half with some foul trouble, but Ebi got into a zone and Aaron was doing a lot of scoring inside. Quannas had a great game offensively. Not only was he setting people up, but he was making his shots, too."
OKLAHOMA SENIOR FORWARD AARON McGHEE
"Tonight was definitely a physical game and it feels very good to beat Texas. I was feeling good with my shot for most of the night and I was just trying to do my best to help us get a win. I was able to get pretty good position and the guys were getting me the ball where I could do something with it."
"We take pride in not losing at home and I'm glad I did my part to help us keep up this home win streak. I only have one more game here and I'm sure it's going to be emotional. But for right now, I'm just happy we were able to win this one."
Texas Head Coach Rick Barnes
On Oklahoma:
"They're an excellent team. They've got balance and they pass the ball very well. It's pretty impressive that they had three guys with five assists. OU doesn't count on one guy to pass the ball."
On Texas:
"My biggest concern was getting back to the things we used to do. I was happy with the way Sydmill Harris came into the game and Jason Klotz had some quality minutes."
On T.J. Ford:
"I believe there is no better guard in the county than T.J. Ford. He has to shoulder a lot for this team. We have to get some of the other guys handling the ball. Ford had eight of our 11 assists tonight and none of our wing players had any assists."
Texas Freshman Guard T.J. Ford
On Oklahoma:
"They did a good job. They contained me and tried to stop me from penetrating."
On conversation with Quannas White:
"It was just a friendly little conversation with Quannas. We were just being competitive and out there having fun."
On Texas:
"We played hard tonight, but when you play against a team that has so many weapons it can be hard to win. It just didn't turn out the way we wanted it to tonight."
On the remainder of the season:
"We have two games left, and we have to play them like they're our last. We put ourselves in a hole and now we have to dig ourselves out."
Texas Sophomore Forward Brandon Mouton
On Oklahoma:
"They were just hitting big shots tonight, and their inside play was good, too. It's important for us to come out and play our next two games with all we have."
On Texas:
"A lot of our shots weren't falling for us tonight even though we had a lot of looks."
