Women's Tennis Team Named To Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma women's tennis team placed every member of its team on the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2001 semester.

Sophomore Anda Perianu (Braila, Romania) led the team with a 4.00 grade point average. Other members include juniors Annette Bryntesson (Perth, Australia), Joni Helleland (Ada, Okla.) Melissa Mendieta (San Jose, Costa Rica) and Elena Jirnova (Keiv, Romania). Freshmen Jessica Braver (Edmond, Okla.), Bethany Griffin (Amarillo, Texas) and Heather Saluri (Des Moines, Iowa) also made the honor roll.

Criteria for making the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is that student-athletes maintain at least a 3.00 GPA for the semester.

The Sooners are 4-0 on the season going into a match with St. Louis on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Sante Fe Country Club in Oklahoma City. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
