Norman, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma received word today that senior Josh Lambrecht has been granted a satisfactory progress waiver by the NCAA and is eligible to compete immediately. Lambrecht had been ineligible to compete due to NCAA academic rules.

"We are obviously relieved and excited for Josh (Lambrecht) and our team," said head coach Jack Spates. "We are appreciative of Dr. Gurney and Jenny Bramer's efforts in processing the appeal and especially greatful that the NCAA recognized the error and that their primary interest is in the student-athlete."

Lambrecht is a returning All-American who won the 2002 Big 12 championship. Lambrecht, who was the 2002 NCAA runner-up, enters this season ranked first in both the Amateur Wrestling News and Intermat polls.
