Senior John Kidwell Named Big 12 Conference Men's Golfer of the Month

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma senior golfer John Kidwell was named Big 12 Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for September as announced by the league offices Monday. Kidwell was recently named Golf World Magazine's Men's Collegiate Golfer of the Week (Sept. 27) as he earned medalist honors at the Sooner Inviational with an 11-under-par 205.

The Dallas, Texas, native shot a course-record 65 in the second round of the Sooner Invitational, earning his first individual title and helping OU to a second place finish. In OU's other two tournaments last month, Kidwell tied for 36th at the Carpet Capital Collegiate with a 220 and tied for 49th at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate with a 225. He is averaging 72.2 strokes per round through nine rounds.

Twenty-second-ranked Oklahoma is in action Oct. 7-8 at the Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate in Somis, Calif.
