OU Men's Tennis Duo Exits ITA All-American

NORMAN, Okla. - A pair of University of Oklahoma men's tennis players were eliminated in the doubles bracket of the prequalifying portion of the 2002 Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn., at the Atlanta Community Tennis Association Champions Club.

OU senior Chris Mitchell (Tulsa, Okla.) and freshman Tommy Garrison (Enid, Okla.) fell to Baylor's Jason Gould and Barry McLaren (8-5). It was the first loss of the fall season for the duo which had won five consecutive matches coming into the tournament.

The Sooners return to action on Oct. 11 at the Texas-Arlington Invitatational in Arlington, Texas.
