Sooners Finish Third Day At Omni Hotels Region V Championship

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team went 1-2 in doubles at the Omni Hotels Men's Tennis Region V Championship in Tulsa, Okla., Saturday afternoon. The tournament is being held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center with a field including players from Arkansas, Bradley, Colorado, Creighton, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State, Missouri-Kansas City, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, St. Louis, Southern Illinois, Southwest Missouri State, Wichita State and Tulsa.

In the doubles main draw, senior Chris Mitchell (Tulsa, Okla.) and freshman Tommy Garrison (Enid, Okla.) went 1-1 on the day. The duo outlasted Indiana State's Henry Choi and Dalibor Mihajlovic (9-8 (2)) in the round of 16 and were beaten by Arkansas' Aleksey Bubis and Kristofer Ivarsson (8-3) in the quarterfinals. Senior Matt Ogle (Tulsa, Okla.) and sophomore Brad Prigmore (Wichita Falls, Texas) fell to Tulsa's Ryan Livesay and Dustin Taylor (8-1) in the round of 16.
