NORMAN, Okla. - Jabahri Brown, a center on the University of Oklahoma men's basketball team, turned in his most productive performance of the World University Games by registering 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots versus Nigeria in Beijing, China, Tuesday.
Brown, who has helped his squad to four straight wins, was 6-for-11 from the field and added an assist and two steals in the 67-55 Virgin Islands victory. Tuesday's performance was Brown's second double-double of the Games as he scored 11 points and hauled in 10 boards versus Angola. He has grabbed at least 10 rebounds in four of the Virgin Islands' six contests.
On Monday, Brown scored six points and had four rebounds and a block in limited minutes in a 103-60 rout of Lebanon.
Tuesday's victory improved the Virgin Islands' tournament record to 4-2.
Brown competed in 1999-00 at Florida International where he averaged 8.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocked shots and 1.6 steals in 24 minutes per game as a freshman. The transfer will not be eligible to compete for the Sooners this season until the conclusion of the fall semester.
