Women's Tennis Inks Two Players

NORMAN, Okla. - Two outstanding high school products, Beth Griffin and Heather Saluri, have signed national letters of intent with the Oklahoma women's tennis team for the 2001-02 season announced Head women's tennis coach Mark Johnson.

Saluri, who hails for Urbandale, Iowa, is a Top 80 national singles player. Saluri won the Iowa State High School Championship in 1998 and was the runner-up in 1999. She closed her career with a 45-4 singles record. Slauri also finished in the top 32 at indoor nationals during her prep career. She is daughter of Larry and Deb Kyner and was coached by Dave White at Urbandale High School.

Griffin earned a No. 150 national ranking while in high school. She was consistently ranked in the top 30 in the state of Texas, achieving her highest ranking of No. 8 in 2000. The Amarillio, Texas, native competed at the Hard Court and Clay Court nationals while in high school and was selected to the UIL District 3-5A All-Academic team in 2000. She is the daughter of Glenn and Linda Griffin.
