NORMAN, Okla. - Senior Viviana Mracnova's fourth-straight singles win was not enough to push Oklahoma's women's tennis team past No. 36 Kansas State in today's Big 12 Conference match up at the Santa Fe Tennis Center in Oklahoma City. The match was moved indoor due to inclement weather in Norman. The Wildcats took the match, 6-1, dropping the Sooners to 4-11 on the season and 0-9 in league action. K-State, which has won six consecutive matches, improved its records to 11-6 and 7-1. The Sooners still hold the all-time series advantage, 16-6.
Mracnova scored OU's only point by dominating KSU's top player Alena Jecminkova, 6-1, 6-1. OU's Big 12 Tennis Player of the Week takes her No. 1 singles record to 10-4 overall and boast an impressive 7-2 mark against conference opponents.
OU returns to action Monday, April 16, when it takes on Baylor in the last home match of the season at the Westwood Tennis Center in Norman. The dual is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
