LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Nebraska Sunday at the Cather-Pounds Courts in Lincoln, Neb. OU, which lost at Iowa State on Friday, dropped to 4-10 on the season and 0-7 in the Big 12 Conference.
Senior Viviana Mracnova scored OU's only point, dropping Nebraska's Leslie Harvey, 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles position. Mracnova owns a 9-4 overall record and is 6-2 in league play. Mracnova teamed with sophomore Melissa Mendieta for an 8-3 victory over Harvey and Rose Ketmayura at No. 1 doubles. The Huskers edged the Sooners, 8-6, at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions to take the doubles point.
OU returns to action Saturday, April 14, when it takes on Kansas State at the Westwood Tennis Center in Norman. The dual is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
