NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale announced today that Lauren Shoush of Putnam City North High School signed a national letter of intent to play for the women's basketball team next season.

Shoush, a 5-11 guard, was named the 2001 Oklahoma All-City Player of the Year and earned first team All-State accolades following her senior season. She also was a two-time Metro Conference Player of the Year honoree (2000, 2001). This past season she led Putnam City North to the semifinals of the 6A high school state tournament with an overall record of 22-5. Shoush averaged 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game while shooting 57 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc.

"Lauren is an excellent athlete who had an outstanding senior season at Putnam City North," said Coale. "She is an impressive young lady both on and off the court and she will be a great asset to our program."
