NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at the hands of the 17th-ranked Baylor Bears Monday at the Westwood Tennis Center in Norman. Despite the win at No. 1 singles by senior Viviana Mracnova, OU fell to 4-12 on the season and 0-10 in league action.
Mracnova was the highlight of the day for the Sooners, extending her singles win streak to five-straight matches with a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6, victory over Baylor's 29th-ranked Jahvani Parekh. Last week's Big 12 Player of the Week upped her record to 11-4 overall and 8-2 in Big 12 play with the win.
Baylor won the remaining five singles positions and all three doubles slots to post the 6-1 victory. The Bears improved to 18-5 on the year with a 6-2 mark in conference matches.
Oklahoma returns to the court on Saturday, April 21, when it heads to Colorado for its final regular season dual.
