Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale:
"I'd just like to say that I'm really glad that I'm not up here crying. It's a great feeling to have our first win in Kansas City. I felt as though we played well in the first half, and especially shot the ball well. In the second half I thought we did a good job keeping ourselves poised even though we missed so many shots. I am very ready to look forward to tomorrow."
(on how the program has progressed) "The first year I was at OU, we were not ready to compete at this level. We are a completely different team now and its hard even imagining where we were a few years ago. Kids with great character, not just good basketball skills, have gotten us to the position that we are in."
(fine tuning for the NCAA's) "I think we need to really work on consistency, especially when we rebound. I think that disciplined teams make good decisions, especially when it comes to postseason play."
Oklahoma guard Stacey Dales:
(on scoring droughts) "I think we've learned how to compete through our droughts. We're a more experienced, more mature team and I think that has helped us."
(on what kind of team can stop OU) "We don't have any trees, so a team with a size advantage will cause us problems. Also, a team that is able to stop our transition game will do well against us. When Sunny (Hardeman) brings the ball up the floor quickly, it's tough to stop."
"We let the game come to us in the first half. What we need to do is make sure that we let that happen for all 40 minutes."
"Balance makes us unique. With four people in double figures, that is pretty important. It's even more important in the NCAA Tournament."
Oklahoma guard Sunny Hardeman:
(on droughts) "I was confident we'd pull through it. We have survived them a lot this year."
(on rebounding) "We talked about offensive rebounding at halftime, and then just kept crashing and crashing the boards in the second half."
(on last year's Big 12 Tournament) "Emotionally, the loss to Texas last year was very tough. The game was so physical. This year, emotionally, it's great so far."
