NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's basketball team held its annual awards banquet tonight at Lloyd Noble Center. The Sooners welcomed a floor full of fans to share in dinner, a few laughs, award presentations and a reflection on the regular season.
Eleven awards were presented in categories ranging from Most Improved Player to the Tight White Award (given to a valuable scout team player).
Oklahoma, ranked 16th in the latest AP and ESPN/USA Today polls, is the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. The Sooners earned a first-round bye and will play Friday at approximately 8:20 p.m. against the winner of Thursday's Missouri (No. 6 seed) versus Texas A&M (No. 11 seed) contest. The Sooners are 23-6 overall and tied for second place in the Big 12 with a 12-4 record.
