SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis fell, 6-1, to the No. 10 Texas Longhorns in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday. UT extended its nation's longest active tennis conference winning streak to 120 consecutive matches, improving to 12-2 overall and 8-0 in Big 12 Conference action. OU drops to 4-6 overall and 0-4 in league play.
Due to unstable weather in Austin, the match was moved to Thousand Oaks Racquet Club in San Antonio. Singles was played first in order to speed up the match. Texas swept all six matches for the 6-0 lead. Big 12 Conference rules require that doubles be played, so Texas defaulted all three doubles matches and Oklahoma took the doubles point for a 6-1 final score.
Senior All-Big 12 performer Viviana Mracnova took Vladka Uhlhirova to three sets in a hard-fought loss, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
The Sooners return to action on Wednesday, March 28, when they travel to Stillwater, Okla., to take on Oklahoma State at 1 p.m.
