NORMAN, Okla. - The eighth-ranked Oklahoma wrestling team won nine of 10 matches in a 34-4 romp against Big 12 foe Missouri, tonight at the OU Field House. The Sooners won four matches by bonus, including a Leonce Crump pin at heavyweight and a technical fall at 141 pounds by Michael Lightner. OU improved 16-4-1 with the win while Missouri dropped to 6-9-1.

Sooner Jared Frayer won the opening bout at 149 pounds, decisioning Kenny Burleson, 9-3. Missouri followed with its only win of the dual, a Jesse Jordan 10-2 major decision at 157. Three first-period takedowns powered OU's Robbie Waller to a 15-4 major at 165 while Michael Barger upset the Tigers' 174-pound John Kopnisky, 6-5. Josh Lambrecht scored five of his seven points in the final 10 seconds of the first period in the 184-pound match for a 7-2 decision over Ry Stone and Waymon May snapped a 3-3 tie in the third period for a 9-4 victory at 197.

Oklahoma heavyweight Crump posted his 11th pin of the year, sticking Scott Barker in 1:10. OU 125-pounder Matt Ridings upset Mizzou's Justin Spates, son of Sooner Head Coach Jack Spates, 7-6, and Witt Durden won by major decision, 13-3, against Jesse Jordan. Lightner claimed the dual's final bout by technical fall, 22-7, with 12 seconds remaining in the third period.

"Were in pretty good shape right now," said OU Head Coach Jack Spates. "We will confront our weaknesses and problems and prepare for a battle with Nebraska next weekend."

OU returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 11, when it hosts Big 12 rival Nebraska. Action begins at 3 p.m. in the OU Field House.
