Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale
On overall game:
"I thought that we had a terrific second half but I was really concerned about Missouri coming so strong out of the block. They have a strong history of being a second half team and for us to only be up by four at halftime, we were really concerned about the first five minutes of the second half. We never really took the game over until Sunnys (Hardeman) three that was a two. The crowd got into the game and we tried a little bit harder, we blew it open. Missouri is a very good team and defensively they do a great job. "
On Junior LaNeishea Caufield:
"LaNeishea is terrific at going to the basket and when she goes to the free throw line, its money. Its going in and the great thing about that is it allows us to change our defense and run a half court press. I couldnt tell you where half of LaNeisheas shots came from, but that is how she is. She is a quiet scorer but she does get a lot of trips to the free throw line.
On Sophomore Caton Hill:
Her warrior mentality and her toughness are certainly like Phylesha (Whaley) and her ability to post-up with her back to the basket or shut down and shoot a three. Caton didnt score that much tonight but she was posting up hard."
On the crowd:
"I really believe that the crowd jumping into the game on the controversial three-point shot changed it. We just went crazy. It just energized us. The fans make a huge difference. Its about the crowd making a difference in the game, they give us energy and fire. I appreciate the four thousand people that were here and I appreciate how vocal they were."
Junior Guard LaNeishea Caufield
"These last several games, I played as if its my last game. I feel obligated to step after Jen (Cunningham) went down with injury. Im also fortunate that Im not injured. I dont worry too much about my offense. Coach Coale keeps harping that the offense will come, but its my defense I must focus on. I think one of the reason why Im so effective on defense is that I guard our best players (Stacey Dales, Caton Hill) in practice."
Junior Guard Stacey Dales
"Sometimes, it can be difficult to play a home game after a very important road victory. At the beginning, theres a little too much adrenaline flowing and the team is too worked up. Our experience was able to overcome that. Today, we settled down and were able to focus on the task at hand."
