November 20, 2001 - Last weekend we played in the Bertha Teague Classic in Stillwater, a tournament that featured our state rivals. As a team, I felt like we needed to come out and make a statement early. I think we did. We defeated Tulsa 75-52, and ORU 73-38. The team did a great job, especially our freshman, who got the opportunity to gain a lot of confidence. Our team, as a whole, was more together. We played better because we were more together and communicate with each other each trip down the court.

Stacy (Dales) and LaNeishea (Caufield) had terrific games. I thought I played okay, except for fouling out in against Tulsa. I didn't get the ball in the post very often, so I was more of a guard both games. We came away with wins, which is all that matters.

Our team needs to work on post defense. We just don't have the height that some teams have, so we have to help each other. The guards have to help the posts, and the posts have to get better position on defense. We need to work on coming out every single game and playing as hard as we can.

We don't get to go home for Thanksgiving break, we will be playing in the San Antonio Tournament over the holidays. We didn't get to go home last year, so I'm used to it. Some of the players' families are coming down to San Antonio, so that will be nice. On Thanksgiving we will probably have a banquet with the other teams in the tournament. I'm really excited because this year we get a Christmas break. I don't mind giving up Thanksgiving break, as long as we get a Christmas break
