Twenty-second-ranked Oklahoma extended its winning streak to seven games and improved to 8-1 with the 109-50 win over Eastern Illinois. The Panthers fell to 7-4 and saw their six-game win streak snapped.

OU scored 100-plus points for the third consecutive game. The last time Oklahoma scored 100-plus points in three straight games was during the 1992-93 season, when OU defeated Chaminade (105-88), DePaul (108-94) and Alaska-Anchorage (102-70).

The 59-point win marked the largest for OU under eighth-year head coach Kelvin Sampson. The previous high under Sampson was a 54-point win last year against Coppin State. It was the 10th largest win in school history (the record is 95 points in a 146-51 win over Northeastern Illinois in the 1989-90 season).

Oklahoma's average for points scored in the last three games is 106 and its average margin of victory is 46.6 ppg.

Incredibly, for the third straight game, Oklahoma shot 39-for-68 from the field, good for 57.4%.

Oklahoma began tonight's game by making 21 of its first 26 shots from the field, 80.8%. OU built a 55-25 lead over that span.

Oklahoma took a 60-26 lead into the halftime locker room. The 60 points exceeded the season-high 59 points in a half OU scored in the first 20 minutes against North Texas, Dec. 9, 2000.

OU has scored 50-or-more points in four of the last six halves it has played. In the two halves in which the Sooners failed to reach 50, they scored 49 points in each.

OU shot 71.9% from the field in the first half. OU's school-record for field goal percentage in a game is .660, set against Illinois State on March 16, 1985.

Oklahoma went on a 23-1 run to start the second half. Eastern Illinois' first field goal of the second half came at the 11:40 mark.

Aaron McGhee poured in 22 points, his second consecutive game of 20-plus points. Over the last seven games, McGhee has averaged 17.7 points per game.

Oklahoma center Jabahri Brown made his first start as a Sooner and scored three points, grabbed four rebounds, had two steals, two blocks and one assists in tonight's game.

For the fourth consecutive game and the eighth of nine contests on the year, Hollis Price scored in double figures. He scored 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting, including 3-for-4 from three-point range. Price is now shooting .511 from long range.

Jason Detrick recorded the first double-double of his Sooner career with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Jozsef Szendrei grabbed 11 rebounds in just 14 minutes of play. He added seven points.

Daryan Selvy scored in double-figures for the second consecutive game, hitting for a season-high 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting.

OU came into tonight's game leading the Big 12 with a .780 free throw percentage for the season. The Sooners shot 25-for-32 against the Panthers (.781). The 32 free throws were a season high.

Oklahoma held a whopping 57-22 edge on the boards tonight, including a 16-6 advantage on the offensive glass.

Eastern Illinois was led by Henry Domercant, who scored 20 points on 6-for-21 shooting. Over the course of the last four games, Domercant was averaging 33.5 ppg and scored 40, 36, 33 and 25 points in those contests.
