SERIES RECORD OU vs. Texas TechTTU leads 17-3
Texas Tech leads the all-time series 17-3 but the two teams split last year's two-game thrillers. OU won, 82-76, in Norman and TTU won, 86-81, in Lubbock. Oklahoma's win over Tech last year earned them a No. 25 national ranking for the first time since 1994-95.

OKLAHOMA (14-4, 5-1 BIG 12) LED BY COMMITTEE
Oklahoma has a more versatile and deeper team this year as six different players have stepped up to lead the Sooners in scoring. OU also has eight players that are averaging 10-plus minutes per game this season. This depth and versatility has made it tougher for OU's opponents to focus on stopping the Sooners' dynamitic duo of junior guards LaNeishea Caufield and Stacey Dales.

Preseason third-team All-America candidate LaNeishea Caufield (Ada, Okla.) not only leads the team in scoring with 16.6 points per game but she leads the nation in steals with 4.4 thefts per outing. Caufield has pocketed five steals in the last three games and has lead the team in thefts in 14 of OU's 18 games. Her quickness has sparked the Sooners' defense but it has also placed her on the free throw line 89 times, hitting 77 freebees. Caufield's free throw percentage of 86.5 percent ranks second on the team and in the Big 12 Conference. She also ranks second on the team in assists (3.5 apg) and third in rebounds (4.6 rpg).

Preseason All-Big 12 selection and Conseco Nancy Lieberman-Cline Step Up Award candidate (the award is for the top point guard in the nation) Stacey Dales (Brockville, Ontario) follows Caufield in scoring with 16.1 points per game. However, Dales sports a team-best 7.4 assists, which ranks first in the Big 12 Conference and sixth in the nation in assists per game. In addition, Dales ranks second on the team and 20th in the nation in steals with 3.2 thefts per outing, plus she's fourth on the team in rebounds with 4.3 rpg.

Sophomore Caton Hill (Ada, Okla.) is the teams' top rebounder with 8.8 boards per game which rank fourth in the league. She also has supplied the Sooners with six double-doubles (10+ rebounds, 10+ points) this season, pushing her career total to 12. Hill's 12.3 points per game and free throw percentage of 84.8 percent is third best on the squad. Junior Jen Cunningham (Kingston, Ontario) tops the team in blocks with 1.4 per outing and ranks second on the team in rebounds with 6.3 rpg.

As a team, OU averages 84.2 points and grabs 42.0 rebounds per game compared to its opponents' 73.4 points and 36.4 rebounds.

TEXAS TECH (15-2, 6-0 BIG 12)
Texas Tech is led in scoring by sophomore Plenette Pierson, who is averaging 13.4 points per game. Senior Katrisa O'Neal is averaging 12.6 points a game, while freshman Jia Perkins and junior Amber Tarr are averaging 12.4 and 10.9, respectively. Tarr ranks sixth in the country in three-point field goal percentage at 48.1.

Pierson also tops the team in rebounds averaging 7.2 boards a game followed by junior Tanisha Ellison at 6.8. Freshman Dionne Brown has a team-high 61.1 field goal percentage, while Ellison is shooting 48.6 percent and Pierson at 48.5 percent. Pierson is the top shot blocker with 21 blocks.

As a team, the Lady Raiders rank fifth in the nation in scoring defense at 56.4, seventh in won-lost percentage at .882, ninth in scoring margin at 19.2 and 15th in three-point field goal percentage at 39.0. On the year, the Lady Raiders are shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range and 67.9 percent from the free throw line.

UP NEXT
Oklahoma wraps up its two-game series with Texas A&M on Wednesday, Jan. 31, in College Station, Texas. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. OU won the first meeting, 97-84, in Norman on Jan. 17. Oklahoma leads the all-time series 11-7 but the Aggies have a 5-2 advantage when playing at home.

A YEAR AGO -- OU-TECH SPLITS TWO-GAME SERIES
Last year's two-game series with Texas Tech were thrillers and among the best games of the season for both teams.

In Norman, OU opened the Big 12 Conference schedule with a thrilling 82-76 victory over 13th-ranked Texas Tech. Phylesha Whaley propelled the team down the stretch scoring 19 of her game-high 25 points in the final 20 minutes of action. LaNeishea Caufield and Stacey Dales both scored 15 points for the Sooners. Oklahoma owned the lead the entire first half and jumped out to their largest lead of the half of nine points with 4:18 left in the period. However, Texas Tech closed to within two points with less than two minutes to go before OU secured a six-point halftime advantage, 36-30, on two free throws by Jadrea Seeley and a jumper by Dales. The Sooners extended their lead to 11 points with 16 minutes left in the game. The Red Raiders then fought back and scored 10-straight points to pull within one. Oklahoma took the lead for good on a lay up by Desiree Taylor with 6:39 left. All five of Texas Tech's starters scored in double figures led by Katrisa O'Neal's 16 points.

At Texas Tech, Keitha Dickerson scored 23 points, Plenetter Pierson added 18 and Melinda Schmucker-Pharies and O'Neal each contributed 12 points en route to an 86-81 Texas Tech victory on ESPN2. Tech hit seven free throws during the final minute as foul trouble caused the Sooners to lose Caton Hill and Whaley with more than four minutes to play. Tech led 36-29 at halftime but Oklahoma went on a 21-8 run early in the second half to get even at 50-50. Dales' basket put the Sooners ahead 52-50 with 14:08 to play. Thirty seconds later, Dickerson tied the game with a field goal and Aleah Johnson made a free throw moments later to put the Lady Raiders ahead for good. Caufield led the Sooners with 29 while Dales added 22 and Whaley 18.

A LOOK BACK AT KANSAS
Oklahoma jumped out to a 12-0 lead on Kansas and never looked back before picking up its 14th win of the season with an 88-64 victory in Lawrence Wednesday night.

All 14 OU players saw action as junior guard LaNeishea Caufield hit seven-of-nine shots for a game-high 20 points, marking the sixth time this season Caufield has score 20-or-more points. The NCAA leader in thefts per game also pocketed a team-high five steals for the third straight game. Sophomore Caton Hill added 12 points for the Sooners, while Rosalind Ross chipped in 10. Senior Sunny Hardeman distributed a game-high seven assists, followed by junior Stacey Dales' five assists and eight points.

Oklahoma was never threatened after the game-opening run despite Brooke Reves' 16-foot jumper that cut the Sooners advantage down to 11 points with 7:27 left in the opening stanza. However, Oklahoma outscored KU 21-10 to take a 48-26 halftime lead. Kansas never came closer than 20 points in the second half, as Oklahoma shot season highs of 66 percent for the field (33-of-50) and 85.7 percent from beyond the arc, hitting 6-of-7 three-pointers.

With OU's largest lead of 33 points at the 9:32 mark, OU coach Sherri Coale begin inserting all of her reserves. The Sooners overcame 34 turnovers, 12 in the final 9:32, and held the Jayhawks to just 35 percent shooting from the field and just 1-of-10 (10%) from 3-point range, an opponent low for the Sooners.

Reves and Jaclyn Johnson each scored 16 points to lead Kansas, while Jennifer Jackson added 14 points as four of KU's five starters were on the floor when the final horn sounded.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Even though Oklahoma prefers a fast-paced offense, the Sooners don't lose track of the importance of good solid defensive pressure. That fact is shown in the Sooners' holding nine of their 18 opponents to 40 percent or below from the field which in return produces an 11-0 record for OU. Opponents are shooting 39.6 percent from the field against the Sooners, including just 32.4 percent from three-point territory. Oklahoma has also collected 227 steals as opposed to its opponents' 179. In addition, the Sooners have outrebounded their opponents by 100 boards (756-656 overall).

Juniors LaNeishea Caufield (Ada, Okla.) and Stacey Dales (Brockville, Ontario, Canada) ranks among the best in steals and assists. Caufield leads the nation in thefts with 4.4 steals per game while Dales ranks 20th in steals per game with 3.2 and sixth in the NCAA in assists per game with 7.4.
