NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma wrestling team won a pair of dual meets (42-2 over Seton Hall and 24-21 over Oregon) Tuesday to improve its record to 3-1 on the season.

The sixth-ranked Sooners began the day by easily defeating Seton Hall (0-4) in Chickasha. Senior Waymon May, redshirt freshman Leonce Crump and sophomore Bo Maynes all recorded falls for the Sooners. Maynes' pin came just 41 seconds into the match. Senior Michael Lightner and sophomore Robbie Waller, ranked No. 2 and No. 6, respectively, registered technical falls for OU, which won nine out of 10 matches against the Pirates.

Against No. 14/16 Oregon at the OU Field House in Norman, the Sooners won the first five matches to jump out to a 24-0 lead that included two pins (juniors Jared Frayer and Michael Barger) and a technical fall (Lightner). However, Oregon (3-1) stormed back with a pair of pins as well (Chael Sonnen and Eric Webb) en route to five consecutive match victories but could get no closer than three.

Lightner (15-0), No. 8/7 Frayer (13-2), junior Brian Burrows (2-0), Waller (12-1) and No. 11 Barger (11-4) claimed victories in both meets.

The Sooners will travel to Arlington, Texas, on Saturday to compete in the Lone Star Duals against Wyoming, Brown, Harvard and Northern Iowa.
