Head Coach Jack Spates:
On the match and the team
"It was truly a great match. There was some hard and aggressive wrestling on the mat tonight. We could've lost tonight but we showed tremendous determination. We still need to work on finding more ways to score points, especially at the 125- and 133-pound levels."
On the pins
"One the things about the pin is that it gets just about every other wrestler excited. When one person tallies a pin, others want to do it as well. It definitely rubs off on the other wrestlers."
On individual wrestlers
"Jared Frayer was limited at first but has definitely made himself into a complete wrestler. I really feel bad for Leonce Crump. For every match you lose like that, you win 100."
Junior Brian Burrows
On his upset victory over No. 18 Eugene Harris
"I was starting to get weary at the end of the match. I looked at coach (Spates) and he said to `dig deep and pull the match off.' That win was good for me, without a doubt."
Junior Jared Frayer
"That pin was a tribute to all the hard work I've put in at practice. It was awesome. (Kidding) Don't look now, but I think I'm creeping up in the OU record books."
