NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma tennis players are competing in the 2001WingspanBank.com/World Team Tennis Regional Championship in Provo, Utah, this weekend. The Sooners take on Weber State Friday at 4 p.m. (MST) at Brigham Young University Indoor tennis courts. Seniors Viviana Mracnova and Stephanie Sajbert, and sophomore Annette Bryntesson, will represent the women, while sophomores Matt Ogle and Chris Mitchell will compete for the men.

The two-day event features a team-tennis, match-style format. Men's and women's players will compete separately in singles and doubles but together in mixed doubles. Points will be awarded for each match toward a total team score.

Oklahoma is one of four schools that were invited to compete in the regional championships, along with BYU, Weber State and Utah State. OU will play the winner or loser of the BYU-Utah State match on Saturday. The winner of the regional championship will advance to play in the National World Team Tennis Championship in October.
