Viviana Mracnova Drops Close Match at T. Rowe Price Tournament

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma women's tennis player Viviana Mracnova lost her qualifying round match to Gizella Turbok of Charleston Southern, 9-7, at the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships in Pikesville, Md., today in the first action for OU women's tennis this fall.

The qualifying round of the tournament, which is being held at The Suburban Club of Baltimore County, was delayed yesterday due to rain and rescheduled for today. Qualifying rounds are single-elimination.

Mracnova was the only Sooner women's tennis player competing at the tournament. The Zvolen, Slovakia, native earned All-Big 12 Singles and Doubles honors and was Big 12 Conference Position Champion at No. 1 doubles at the end of 2000 spring season.
