NORMAN, Okla. - Two University of Oklahoma freshman wrestlers, Robbie Waller and Witt Durden, were recently named to the Amateur Wrestling News All-Freshman teams. Waller was named to the first team at 165 pounds and Durden honored on the second team.

Waller finished third at the Big 12 Championships and advanced to the round of 12 at the NCAA Championships. He defeated Hofstra's Noel Thompson, 15-4, to win the championship of the Oklahoma Gold Classic in his first action of the season and began the year on a 15-match winning streak. Included in the streak was the championship at the St. Louis Open where he defeated eventual national champion Don Pritzlaff of Wisconsin. Waller was one of only two wrestlers to defeat Pritzlaff last season.

Durden was the runner-up at the Oklahoma Gold Classic and the St. Louis. His biggest win was in the final dual of the season when he upset MIchigan State's second-ranked Pat McNamara, 3-2. Durden was named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his performance against McNamara.
