AMES, Iowa - Despite nailing a team season-high five home runs for the second-consecutive game, the 24th-ranked Oklahoma baseball team fell 12-11 to Iowa State Saturday afternoon at Cap Timm Field. OU first baseman Rick Park (3-for-5) belted his fourth home run in the last two games, while catcher Josh Witcher (2-for-5) posted the first two-home run performance of his career. The Sooner defense committed four errors which led to eight unearned runs in the game, including the final three game-winning runs in the seventh inning off of reliever Austin Coose (4-6). Oklahoma dropped to 36-19 overall and 19-10 in the Big 12 Conference with the loss, as Iowa State improved to 19-36 overall and 7-22 in the league.

OU, down 12-9 entering the top of the ninth inning, mounted a two out, two-run comeback on three-straight singles that fell a run short as ISU's Charly Bigwood got Sooner leftfielder Sean Murphy (2-for-6) to strikeout to end the game. Murphy and shortstop Tommy Whiteman (4-for-4) were responsible for the other two OU home runs in the game, as Whiteman also added two triples to his performance to tie an individual school record for triples in a game.

Bigwood collected his third save for the Cyclones, while Ben McKay (1-2) worked three innings of relief to pick up the win. Catcher Ryan Wickham (1-for-4) nailed a two-run homer to spark a seven-run fifth inning for Iowa State to give them the lead for good.

Both teams close out the regular season tomorrow with a 10 a.m. start time at Cap Timm Field.
