NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma women's tennis team loss to arch rival Oklahoma State, 6-3, today at the Westwood Tennis Courts in Norman. OU drops to a 7-8 overall and remains winless in Big 12 Conference action at 0-4. Oklahoma State bumped it's record to 9-3 and 2-3. The Sooner escaped with three singles wins but lost all three in doubles matches.
Picking up the win at number one singles was Oklahoma junior Viviana Mracnova defeating OSU's Dominika Olszewsua, 7-6, 6-7, 6-2. Freshman Melissa Mendieta clinched the win at the number five singles slot, 6-3, 6-2, by defeating Cowgirl Marketa Ghmelova. Fellow freshman Joni Helleland won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, over OSU's Cameron Stoudt.
The Sooners travel to Lawrence, Kansas, for their next dual match on Sat., April 1. Match time is set for 11 a.m at the Robinson Courts.
