LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska starting pitcher Shane Komine held Oklahoma's baseball team to four hits as the Cornhuskers routed the Sooners, 10-1, Friday afternoon at Buck Beltzer Stadium. OU starter Rocky Cherry (2-3) suffered the loss after giving up eight earned runs over six innings, while Komine's (3-2) complete-game four hitter gave him his third win of the season. Oklahoma drops its first conference game on the year and stands at 3-1 in the Big 12 and 13-9 overall. The win improves Nebraska's league record to 4-3 and 13-6 overall.
First baseman Rick Park produced two of the Sooner's four hits and centerfielder Jerome Godsey drove in the team's lone run in the game.
Nebraska centerfielder Jamal Strong went 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored to help pace the Cornhuskers. Leftfielder Adam Stern and designated hitter Matt Hopper both turned in 2-for-4 performances.
The Sooners and the Huskers conclude the three-game series on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
