NORMAN, Okla. - Junior point guard Stacey Dales recorded her first double double of the season and fifth of her career with 14 points and a career-high 14 assists as the 15th-ranked Oklahoma women's basketball team cruised to an 101-71 victory over SMU Saturday afternoon in front of 2,813 fans at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Dales also had seven rebounds, three shy of a triple double. The Sooners improve to 5-2 overall while the Mustangs drop to an even 4-4 on the season.

Oklahoma ended the game when the Sooners exploded for 19 unanswered points to start the first half. SMU scored its first points of the game on a three-pointer by Jackee Brown, a native of Norman, Okla., at the 12:01 mark. OU led 51-26 at halftime. Junior guard LaNeishea Caufield pace OU in the first half with 13 of her team-high 17 points. Caufield also had seven rebounds in 20 minutes of action. Junior forward Jamie Talbert came off the bench to match her career high in scoring with 13 points and added five rebounds. Senior guard Sunny Hardeman was near perfect from behind the arc hitting three of four three-pointers to finish with a season-high 13 points.

The Mustangs were led by freshman guard Andrea Cossi who came off the bench to downed four three-pointers on her way to a game-high 22 points.

As a team, OU shot a season-high 41.7 percent from behind the arc (5-for-12) and outrebounded SMU 52-39. For the third straight game, the Sooners shot over 50 percent from the field, hitting 38-of-73 shots (52.1%). Behind Dales' 14 assists performance, Oklahoma dished out 24 assists to SMU's 13 and pocketed 10 steals to its opponents' five.

Oklahoma will take a week off to study for finals before traveling to nationally-ranked Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Mo., on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m.
