OKLAHOMA STATE
OSU derailed the Iowa Hawkeyes, 21-14, at the Myriad Convention Center in Oklahoma City. Sparked by bonus-point wins at 197 and 285 pounds, OSUs 133-pounder Charles Walker capped off the afternoon with a 3-2 upset win over Iowas No. 1-ranked Eric Juergens. Walker scored the decisive takedown in the final 30 seconds to seal the match and the dual. OSU also picked up wins at 149, 165 and 184 pounds. The victory against Iowa propelled OSU to the top spot in the NWCA poll and second by InterMat.

THE SERIES
The Cowboys lead the all-time series 107-24-9 and have won two straight. OU and OSU tied 16-16 in Stillwater in their first meeting last season. The Sooners last defeated the Pokes in 1996 when the OU won 19-18.

LIGHTNER AIMS FOR CAREER WIN MARK
Senior 141-pounder Michael Lightner will be gunning for several Sooner records this season, including the career victory mark. He has currently tallied 119 wins and is ranked fourth on the all-time list. The school record holder in single-season victories (42 in 1999), Lightner would need to break his own record to tie Dan Chaid's mark of 150 wins. He will also try to become OU's first four-time conference champion, the first four-time Big 12 champion and Oklahoma's first four-time All-American since John Kading 1994-1997.

FRAYER ON FIRE
With two pins at the Oklahoma Open, Jared Frayer now has eight falls and a technical fall in his 12 matches this season. Frayer has beaten two opponents ranked in the top 10 and started the season on an eight-match winning streak. His only loss of the season was a 5-3 setback to top-ranked Adam Tirapelle of Illinois in the finals of the Missouri Open. Frayer's 23 career pins currently ties him with Roger Frizzell for 10th in OU history. His eight pins ties career best.

FRESHMAN OFF TO FAST START
OU redshirt-freshman Leonce Crump and Mark Worthy are both off to fast starts to begin their OU careers.

After posting a 1-2 mark at the Oklahoma Gold Classic, Worthy has won for straight matches, including an individual title at the Oklahoma Open. Worthy has won three of those matches by bonus (two major decisions and one fall).

Crump has been one of the hottest Sooners, winning 10 of his 13 matches, including four straight. He also has six pins, second best on the team. Crump won the championship at the Oklahoma Open, finished as the runner-up at the Oklahoma Gold Classic and placed fourth at the Missouri Open.
