NORMAN, Okla. - The sixth-ranked Oklahoma wrestling team fell to top-ranked Oklahoma State, 22-13, in front of 2,281 fans at the Lloyd Noble Center. OSU won three of the dual's final four matches to clinch the win. The Cowboys improve to 3-0 while the Sooners fall to 1-1.

Oklahoma State took an early lead when 133 pounder Charles Walker downed Witt Durden, 4-1, in the dual's opening match. OU responded with a 9-1 major decision victory at 141 pounds by Michael Lightner to take a 4-3 lead. It would be OU's only lead of the dual as OSU won the next two bouts. Reggie Wright decisioned Jared Frayer, 4-1, at 149 pounds and Shane Roller won by injury default at 157 to give the Cowboys a 12-4 lead. OU 157-pounder Mark Worthy separated his anterior cruciate ligament in the match and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

The Sooners rebounded with a pair of upsets at 165 and 174 pounds to pull within two points, 12-10. Robbie Waller scored five third-period points for come-from-behind, 5-2, victory against Ty Wilcox and Michael Barger survived a late Tyrone Lewis rally for a 4-3 win. OSU's Daniel Cormier scored eight first-period points en route to a 14-1 major decision of Josh Lambrecht at 184 pounds. The Cowboys' Mark Muoz used a takedown with 18 seconds remaining to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Waymon May, 3-2. OU's Leonce Crump upset James Huml, 9-4, at heavyweight. OSU won the dual's final match, a 3-2 Matt Brown upset of Bo Maynes.

The Sooners will not compete again until after the New Year when it hosts Seton Hall and Oregon on Jan. 2. The Seton Hall dual will be held at Chickasha, Okla., at noon and the Oregon match will begin at 7 p.m. in the OU Field House.
