NORMAN, Okla. -- - The University of Oklahoma women's basketball team will host its first of two exhibition games on Monday, Nov. 6, against Oklahoma Christian University. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center.

The Sooners return four starters and 11 letterwinners from a team that produced a school-record 25 victories (25-8), earned a share of the Big 12 Conference regular season title (13-3), advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 and was ranked No. 13 in the final USA Today Coaches' Poll. Oklahoma's spotlight will be on juniors Stacey Dales and LaNeishea Caufield, the backcourt tandem that could arguably be the best in the Big 12 Conference this season. Dales, who was a member of the Canadian National Team that competed at the 2000 Olympics, is a 6-0 guard who averaged 12.7 points, 5.8 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game last year. Caufield, the team's top returning scorer, is a 5-9 dynamo who delivered 15.3 points, 2.9 steals and 4.9 rebounds.

With a year of experience under their belts, look for sophomores Caton Hill and Jadrea Seeley to play a major factor in the Sooners success once again. Hill is OU's top returning rebounder with 7.4 boards per game, while Seeley hit over 50 percent of her shots a year ago. The biggest surprise this season could come from 6-3 junior center Jennifer Cunningham. Cunningham, healthy for the first time as a Sooner, is in terrific shape and has regained her confidence in the paint.

Oklahoma Christian University also returns four starters to a team that went 23-13 overall and 9-5 in the Sooner Athletic Conference a year ago. OCU advanced to the NAIA Sweet 16 and was ranked No. 11 at the end of last season. The Lady Eagles top returning scorer and rebounder is third team NAIA All-American Sarah Reese. The 6-1 junior forward from Owasso, Okla., posted team highs of 18.4 points and 12.3 rebounds in 2000. Assisting Reese will be junior Lindsay Wilson and senior Kristi Little. Wilson, a third team All-SAC selection, averaged 11.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, while Little, an NAIA Scholar Athlete, had 8.8 points and 7.5 rebounds an outing. In addition, junior Ali Griffin returns at point guard for the Lady Eagles.

The Sooners' second and final exhibition game before opening the 2000-2001 regular season schedule is on Friday, Nov. 10, against Australia Institute for Sports. Start time is schedule for 7 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center. Oklahoma's two exhibition games are free to OU students with a valid student I.D.
