Mracnova and Mendieta Eliminated From ITA Championships

OMAHA, Neb. - Oklahoma women's tennis players Viviana Mracnova and Melissa Mendieta advanced to the doubles quarterfinals today before losing to top-seeded Oklahoma State in the ITA Central Region Championships . The tandem finished the tournament, which was held at the Hanscomb Indoor Tennis Center, with a 2-1 record.

Eighth-seeded Mracnova and Mendieta edged Kansas' Emily Haylock and Kim Lorenz, 9-7, in their second round match. OSU's Ashleigh Dolman and Maria Phillips-Galoustova defeated OU, 8-4, in quarterfinal action.

The ITA Central Region Championships mark the end of the fall season for the Oklahoma women's tennis team.
