COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Phylesha Whaley had 23 points Wednesday night to lead No. 23 Oklahoma to a 79-72 victory over Texas A&M, the Aggies' sixth straight loss.
Whaley, who was 2-for-2 from 3-point range, also had three assists and two steals. LaNeishea Caufield added 19 points for the Sooners (16-3, 6-0 Big 12) and Desiree Taylor had 12.
The Aggies (9-8, 1-6) were down 38-30 at halftime, but rallied to tie the game at 42 with 16:40 left and even went up by three on two baskets by Prissy Sharpe.
Oklahoma regained the lead for good when Jadrea Seeley hit a jumper, Whaley scored down low and Caufield made two free throws.
Jaynetta Saunders led A&M with 22 points and had four blocked shots. Sharpe finished with 16 points and Brandy Jones and Kera Alexander each had eight.
