DALLAS - The University of Oklahoma women's and men's cross country teams competed today in the SMU Invitational in Dallas, Texas. With a score of 73, the women's team finished second to Texas' 36 points. The men's team finished sixth with 130 points behind Texas (38), SMU (71), TCU (89), Texas El Paso (89) and Texas Arlington (112).
Norman native Andrea DeLozier, a senior, paced the women's team for the second straight week with a 5K time of 18:20, placing her ninth. Oklahoma also had two other top-15 finishers on the women's side. Senior Sarah Harvey finished 11th, clocking a time of 18:46, while junior Katherine Smith took 15th with a time of 19:03.
Leading the men's team for the second straight week was sophomore Jimmy Martinez, who placed 13th with a career-best 8K time of 26:38. Junior Sam Stalcup also ran well for the Sooners, crossing the finish line in 27:20 for a 23rd-place finish.
The Sooners will compete in the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater Oct. 2.
