Strong Showing by Sooner Cross Country teams in Kansas

Lawrence, Kan. - The University of Oklahoma women's and men's cross country teams competed today in the Bob Timmons Invitational at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. With a score of 54, the women's team finished second to Arkansas' 15 points. The men's team finished fourth with 81 points behind Kanas (33), Truman State (61) and Misouri Southern (76).
Senior and Norman native Andrea DeLozier paced the women's team in the 5K race with a seventh-place time of 18:57.50. Oklahoma also had two other top-10 finishers on the women's side. Sarah Harvey finished eighth by clocking a time of 19:29.21, while fellow senior Mindy Mizell took 10th with a time of 19:43.86.
Sophomore Jimmy Martinez and junior Sam Stalcup led the Sooner men in the 8K race. Martinez placed fifth with a time of 26:53.82, followed by Stalcup's sixth-place mark of 27:01.18.
Next weekend, the Sooners will compete in the SMU Invitational in Dallas, Texas.
