Sooners Wrap Up Championship Season

NORMAN, Oklahoma - The University of Oklahoma wrestling team will host its annual postseason awards banquet Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m. The banquet will be held in the Oklahoma Memorial Union Ballroom.

The Sooners finished the season with an 18-5-1 record, one win shy of the school record. OU also won its first Big 12 Championship (its first conference crown since 1986) and crowned three individual champions. At the NCAA Tournament, the team finished sixth while four Oklahoma wrestlers earned All-America honors.

The awards banquet is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased by calling Linda Smith at 325-8460. Come help celebrate the Big 12 Champion wrestling team in what is always an entertaining and motivating event.
