NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's basketball team picked up its fourth win of the season by defeating Sam Houston State, 97-60, Thursday night at the Lloyd Noble Center. Senior All-American candidate Phylesha Whaley, who led the team in scoring for the second straight game, sparked the Sooners with 20 points on the night. The win gives OU three-game winning streak and improves them to 4-2 on the season.

The Sooners shot 73 percent in the first half and took a 52-24 lead at the intermission. Oklahoma used a 15-0 run late in the period and outscored Sam Houston State 26-5 over the last 7:41 to claim the advantage. Sophomore Stacey Dales had 12 points and nine assists in the first half.
