NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma's Kristin Guilford upset fift-seeded Jana Sidovic of Tulsa, 6-1, 6-2, Friday at the ITA Rolex Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Eccles Tennis Center. Guilford was eliminated in the quarterfinal of the consolation bracket with a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Boise State's Renate Stoup.
In doubles action, Sooners Viviana Mracnova and Angela Stroup defeated seventh-seeded Nadine Kenzelman and Dominique Lemperle of Colorado, 8-2. The duo advanced to the quarterfinal of the main draw before losing to BYU's Elizoveta Khoudoiarova and Dominique Reynolds, 8-2.
Stroup and Jennie Hamilton also competed in the singles consolation bracket Friday. Stroup lost to New Mexico's Ashley Hedberg in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, while Hamliton was defeated by Kansas' Christi Wagner, 6-3, 6-1.
