DALLAS - The University of Oklahoma women's and men's cross country teams competed today in the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. The Sooner women had a strong performance as they finished sixth (168 points) among a field of 16, while the men placed 13th (312 points) out of 14 teams.
Baylor won the women's competition with 40 points while Arkansas claimed five of the top 10 spots and dominated the men's meet with 27 points. For the third week in a row, senior Andrea DeLozier paced the women's team with a 5K time of 18:33, placing her 19th overall. Also running well for the Sooners was senior Sarah Harvey, who finished 30th by clocking a time of 18:57.
Leading the men's team for the third straight week was sophomore Jimmy Martinez, who placed 22nd with a career-best 8K time of 25:51.
The Sooners will resume competition on Oct. 16th at the Arkansas-Chili Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
