Cross Country Finishes Regular Season At Chile Pepper

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Oklahoma women's and men's cross country teams competed today in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. The Sooner women turned in a strong performance as they finished eighth (230 points) among a field of 22, while the men placed 14th (408 points) out of 18 teams.
Arkansas won the women's competition with 20 points and boasted four of the top five finishers. The Razorbacks also led the men's race with 25 points and recorded five top-10 finishes.
Senior Sarah Harvey led the OU women's team for the first time this season with a 5K time of 19:03, placing her 35th overall.
Leading the men's team for the fourth straight week was sophomore Jimmy Martinez, who placed 76th with a career-best 10K time of 33:16.
The Sooners compete next at the Big 12 Championships in College Station, Texas, on Oct. 30th.
